Capture Every Flight, The Ultimate Aeroo Pro Footage Guide

If you're getting ready for your next drone fishing session and want to make sure you capture every drop, strike, and scenic flight, understanding your SD card setup is essential.

In this guide, we'll walk you through exactly which SD card to use with the Aeroo Pro, how to install it, format it, and the easiest ways to transfer your footage to your phone or computer.

What SD Card Does the Aeroo Pro Use?

The Aeroo Pro uses a microSD card and supports cards up to 256GB.

For the best recording performance, we recommend using a V30 speed-rated card or higher. This ensures the drone can reliably record smooth, high-bitrate 4K footage without lag or file corruption.

Recommended SD Card Specs:

  • microSD format
  • Up to 256GB capacity
  • V30 speed class or above
  • Reputable brands like SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston

Where Does the SD Card Go?

The SD card installs directly into the drone, not the controller.

You'll find the slot on the right-hand side of the aircraft, next to the pairing button. Insert the card until it clicks into place. Once recognised, the app display will show the SD card icon and available storage.

How to Format the SD Card

Formatting is recommended before first use, especially with a new or previously used card.

You can format the card inside the Aeroo Fly app or on your computer.

Important:

Formatting deletes everything on the card, so transfer any footage you want to keep first.

If the Card Isn't Recognised:

Formatting often resolves detection issues quickly.

Understanding Aeroo Video Files (AA vs AB)

The Aeroo Pro records two versions of each video file:

AA File

  • Full quality 4K UHD footage
  • Best for editing
  • Best for sharing
  • Highest detail

AB File

  • Compressed preview version
  • Good for quick transfers
  • Lower quality playback
  • Can appear blurry

For best results, always use the AA file when editing or posting content.

How to Transfer Footage

Method 1, SD Card Reader (Best Option)

Remove the microSD card from the drone and insert it into a card reader. Then connect to:

  • Laptop
  • Desktop computer
  • USB-C phone
  • Tablet

Open the DRONEMEDIA folder to access files.

This is the fastest and easiest option.

Method 2, Smart Controller Playback

Using the Smart Controller WS2, you can insert the SD card and review footage directly on the screen while in the field.

You can also connect the controller to a TV or monitor using HDMI for larger playback.

Method 3, Wireless Transfer (WaveSync 2 Only)

For 2026 WaveSync 2 aircraft models, fast wireless Transfer is available.

How It Works:

  1. Tap Transfer on the blue interface in the Smart Controller (if visable)
  2. A QR code appears
  3. Open the Aeroo Fly app on your phone
  4. Tap Transfer on the blue interface
  5. Scan the QR code
  6. Files transfer wirelessly to your device

Make sure the app has photo permissions enabled.

Standard Controller Users

If you use the standard controller with your phone, you can preview media inside the Aeroo Fly app gallery.

Files can be downloaded wirelessly, but transfer speeds may vary depending on your phone. For faster results, we still recommend using the SD card reader method.

Pro Tips

  • Always keep spare storage available
  • Use AA files for editing
  • Use quality V30 cards only
  • Carry a spare SD card for long sessions

The right SD card setup makes a huge difference when using the Aeroo Pro. Whether you're filming epic beach sessions, bait drops, or cinematic coastlines, using the correct card and transfer method ensures you never miss the moment.
