What is the Aeroo Smart Controller?

What is the Aeroo Smart Controller?

The Aeroo Smart Controller is a standalone drone controller with a built-in 5.5" HD screen, no phone, no cable. It pairs with your Aeroo Pro in seconds and delivers a clear, live video feed in direct sunlight, thanks to its 2000-nit ultra-bright screen in your hands, making it the fastest and most reliable way to fly.

What Does the Smart Controller Do?

The Smart Controller replaces the standard remote and phone setup entirely. Instead of clipping your phone to a controller and connecting a cable, you power on, auto-connect to your Aeroo Pro, and you're flying, all from a single device.

The built-in screen runs at 2000 nits of brightness, which means the live feed stays clearly visible even in full Australian sun.

Charging the Smart Controller

A charger is not included with the Smart Controller. For the best results, charge using a dedicated 27W USB-C wall brick with a USB-C to USB-C cable. This charges the Smart Controller from empty to full in approximately 2 hours.

While the Aeroo Charging Station can be used, it charges the Smart Controller more slowly than a dedicated wall brick, so a standalone 27W charger is strongly recommended for regular use.

WaveSync 1.0 or WaveSync 2.0 — Which Do I Need?

The Smart Controller comes in two versions: WaveSync 1.0 and WaveSync 2.0. Both are $599 AUD and work with Aeroo Pro models; the version you need depends on which drone you have.

To check which version you need, look at the back of your current remote. WS1 has no label; WS2 is labelled. WaveSync 1.0 vs WaveSync 2.0 — Which Version Do I Have?

What's in the Box?

The Smart Controller comes as a standalone unit. Accessories like the Anti-Glare Screen Protector ($29), Lanyard ($19), and Carry Case for Aeroo Pro + Smart Controller ($89) are sold separately and are worth picking up if you're flying outdoors regularly.

The Smart Controller is also available as an upgrade option when purchasing an Aeroo Pro Drone Package.

Is the Smart Controller Worth It?

The standard Aeroo Pro package includes a remote controller that works with your phone via a USB-C or Lightning cable. That setup works well, but it requires your phone to be available, charged, and compatible.

The Smart Controller removes those dependencies entirely. It's particularly useful for fishing and delivery use cases where you're outdoors for long sessions, need both hands free, and don't want to risk your phone.
